Description

Originally designed for inclusion in the range of Effects Boards created for Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour, the PETECORNISH ST-2™ has a long history of preference by professional rock musicians as a vital part of their custom built PETE CORNISH™ Effects Pedalboards and Rack Systems.

The ST-2™ features a superior RFI rejecting input and bypass buffer stage feeding a discrete Class A transistor multi-stage amplifier that has the carefully controlled gain structure with added adjustable Gain and Tone correction circuitry needed by today’s active rock musicians. The ST-2™ has wide range “GAIN”, “TREBLE”, “BASS” and “VOLUME” controls and we recommend that try some of settings shown below, making small adjustments as you play. The “Neutral” or “Unity” settings of the controls are: Bass/Treble – 12 o’clock; Gain – fully counter clockwise; Volume – 3 o’clock. SAMPLE SETTINGS

TYPICAL USES:

Used on it’s own the ST-2™ can correct for deficiencies in tone or signal strength of instruments or amps.

Used in an effects chain the ST-2™ can correct or alter the tonal characteristics of other effects units.

FEATURES:

RFI rejecting input and bypass buffer.

Each unit is hand built, wired and tested by Pete and Lynda Cornish.

Housed in a Rugged Die-cast box with ‘Chicken-Head’ pointer knobs.

Heavy Duty Custom made all-metal footswitch with Hi-Brite LED.

Easy battery replacement via ‘drawer’. The battery is switched on when you insert the “INPUT / PWR ON” jack and to ensure long battery life unplug this lead when the unit is not in use. If the unit is not to be used for a long length of time we recommend that you remove the battery. Preferred battery type is MN1604.

Also fitted is an input for a DC adaptor: the size of the connector is M2.1 and the tip is negative (-VE). The voltage rating of the adaptor should be fully stabilized at 9.6V and capable of supplying 20mA. We recommend the use of the BOSS PSA series adaptors (PSA-100/110/220 or 240 depending on your local AC supply voltage) as meeting the above criteria and cannot accept any liability for damage caused to this unit by the use of any other type of AC/DC adaptor.

Although the current consumption of our Stand Alone pedals is extremely low, giving an extended battery life, it may be appropriate to use an AC/DC Adaptor for long term usage. If a single pedal only is in use then the Boss PSA series will be cost effective but we do not recommend this unit for powering multiple effects as ground loops can become troublesome.

After extensive testing for both noise, stability and reliability we have pleasure in recommending the Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2 Plus as being suitable for powering our range of stand alone pedals – particularly when multiple effects are in use. The isolated outputs of the Pedal Power 2 Plus prevent the occurrence of ground loops and the noise level is too low to measure.
